India is the biggest producer of muscovite sheet mica in the world. This type of mica is called potasium mica and is the best variety available in the global world. It is tough, chemically inert, immune to climatic variation, non toxic, transparent and water proof. By virtue of these unique qualities, it can be reduced to very small thin particle having diameter to thickness ratio as high as 25 to 1. It can therefore, be transformed into Coarse, Medium & Fine varities of Flakes and Powder by dry process of pulverisation and there by it renders itself to wide commercial application in these forms.
Mica powder in various forms is obtained by grinding / breaking mica scrap, which is slow costly & extremely complicated process, because of the scrap being tough and having plates like structure.
