Daruka Mica Segment Plate, Muscovite Ruby, is primarily used in commutators for insulation between the copper bars.

This Plate is produced by laminating together several layers of hand laid Mica Splittings.

The total number of layers are dependent on the desired thickness of the finished product.

The binder on segment plate are "Shellac", "Epoxy", "Poly Vinyl Acetated". Because of the high pressure exerted on segments and the centrifugal force caused by rotation, segment plate has a minimum amount of resin. Not more thean 7%. Daruka Mica segment plate is a fully cured product, featuring maximum density, combined with minimum compression when subjected to high temperatures and pressure.
